You will be supported throughout the course by your dedicated educational supervisor. Your tutor will be a medical doctor who is also an experienced fitness professional.

In this short module we discuss how to get the most out of the course and what you need to do!

In this module we look at how exercise referral works, how it is funded, where the jobs are, as well as how the NHS is structured and how public health funding works.

Consultation skills are important when working with patients. Here we teach techniques that we also teach GPs and other doctors including motivational interviewing.

In this module we cover hypertension, hypercholesterolaemia as well as cardiovascular diseases. We look at the pathophysiology, investigations, management and exercise prescription.

In this module we cover asthma and COPD. We look at the pathophysiology, investigations, management and exercise prescription.

In this module we cover depression and anxiety. We look at the pathophysiology, investigations, management and exercise prescription.

In this module we cover lower back pain, joint replacements, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. We look at the pathophysiology, investigations, management and exercise prescription.

Inactivity is a big problem at the moment, here we look at the problem itself, the cause and the health benefits physiologically of being active. We also take a look at key research.

Here we look at common clients you may see and discuss exercise prescription in more detail.

This CPD course will give you an overview of periodisation and programming for sports performance. By the end of the course you will understand the principles that underpin effective programming, be able to perform a critical needs analysis, have the ability to apply scientific principles to a training programme design and understand how to adapt training variables to meet the demands of specific training phases. In this course you will also look at adopting a critical evidence-based approach to athlete development and understanding the real-world application of programming.

At the end of the course you will receive a certificate, signed by Sam Bacon, as evidence of your CPD.
