I did my level 3 qualification with core fitness after passing my level 2 with a government funded corporation. I'd heard such good things about core that although I could have got my level 3 with government funding, I chose to undergo the qualification with core instead.
I passed the course first time with the expert help of the core tutors who, 3 years after I have qualified, still offer support and help around the clock.
The best thing about core is the community of qualifying/qualified PT’s who are constantly helping each other, offering support, guidance and giving out useful tips to aid each other in bettering themselves as personal trainers.
I’ve recommended the course already to many friends and clients and will continue to do so as the course just gets better and better. I am now delivering around 40 PT sessions a week and also coaching some boxing as well.
I have done Fitness level 2 , PT , Spin Suspension training, media and exercise referral with core. they have been supportive and informative throughout my training.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the courses and found them to be inspirational, thorogh and professional. The on line learning is comprehensive and accessible and the class based modules re fun, educational and help forge great professional relationships for the future.
I started my job as PT at David Lloyd walking the floor and trying to sell PT to potential clients. Using the knowledge I have gained with Core I went from a starting salary of around 13K to approx 31k within 8 months. I continue to hold my status as their top Personal Trainer using knowledge I have gleaned form all their courses. Courses such as exercise referral give me an edge an knowledge that helps me work with particular types of client and I am hoping to put my yoga classes forward soon the exercise referral scheme.
I am using the information learnt from the media course to develop my website an online training packages as I have no more physical hours in the day tartan people I actually operate a waiting list!
I came to core fitness as an already established trainer although I felt I was lacking a bit of extra knowledge to really stand out amongst the competition.
The best thing about working with core fitness has to be the professionally social side of it, even after graduating there is so much support to help you if you do find yourself struggling, for example I’m not great with stress and exams but my tutor spent a lot of time helping me revise and even accommodated a room for me to sit by myself so I could concentrate.
Even if you can’t get in for one on one additional training the online core product has everything you could need from nutrition aspects to training aspects and especially anatomy and physiology aspects. It’s something I haven’t regretted doing and I am flourishing within my industry delivering around 100 sessions of personal training a month.
In 2015 I made a decision to start a sideline business as a group fitness instructor. Previously I had been a player and coach with York City Knights for 22 years but it was time for a change so that I could spend more time with my family.
I contacted CORE Fitness Education to enquire about the 'Fitness Instructor' course which would provide me with the qualification to lead group fitness sessions. CORE Fitness Education's Dane Vishnubala, went out of his way to make me feel welcome. He made special arrangements to cover one day I was unable to do on a one to one basis which was over and above what you would expect. The course itself was very professionally run in a first class environment and with good quality literature and notes. The course tutors were extremely enthusiastic and interested in their students future plans. They would happily offer guidance, drawing on their vast knowledge of the fitness industry.
Since acquiring the qualification I have started a business by the name of 'Fusion Fitness' and now run group sessions both indoors and outdoors at many locations on the west side of York. The business has grown very well and I pride myself on offering safe and effective coaching to my clients at all levels of fitness.
We also raised £1500 for Macmillan Cancer Support UK last year when a group of sixteen completed the Adrenaline Rush 10K assault course at Harewood House.
I would like to thank Dane and the CORE Fitness Education team for helping me get started with the business and would strongly recommend them to anyone wanting to gain qualifications in the fitness industry.
I undertook my level level 2 and 3 courses and then went on to take kettlebells, spin, suspension cables.
The relaxed, gym environment, courses suited my own personal study style. All learning was at a gentle pace and mostly reaffirmed with gym practicals. I was 36 at the time and not being in school for a while was not an issue. I found all the online lectures and videos, very very helpful. To be honest, i devoted a lot of time to it before the course days began so I felt pretty knowledgeable going into day 1
The continual support was key..Chris and Dane were always available and their knowledge can still be called upon to this very day....5 years later!
The transfer from learning to then implementing the taught skills was easy for me. I actually used the routines learnt on my first few clients by the book!!! And immediately this put me in good stead as everything was delivered in confidence. Which clients need to see to then gain confidence with you.
On a personal note, I was always told by friends that I would not do well in the PT world as I push people too hard...but I was encouraged to do this and understand what is safe and effective and be myself by the CORE tutors. I was encouraged to be myself and keep the individualistic approach I had. I suppose that sums up my thoughts on CORE. You are not made to feel like you are on a PT conveyor belt. They are trying to produce great, self-motivated, individuals within this industry.
They also set me up with loads of contacts within the industry and I was employed before I even finished my qualifications.
Keep up to date with all the latest industry news and press releases from CORE
